bleach1It is absolutely critical for a homeowner to understand that bleach does not kill mold. Hundreds of DIY websites and mommy bloggers think they have the solution for eliminating mold from bathrooms, kitchens and water damaged walls. Through there own in house experiments they have discovered that when you treat mold colonies with bleach, they magically disappear for a while. Because they can no longer see the discoloration of the mold they assume it is no longer there and no longer a health risk to the occupants of the home.

Mold can be a serious health issue and can not be eliminated with bleach. Bleach will remove the color from the mass of mold colonies growing in a home but will not kill the mold that is growing on the walls, grout, or flooring. It will also be completely ineffective against airborne spores that are causing health issues. Because the color is eliminated hundred of people across America turn to their blogs and claim they have the solution to the problem. This is not the case. If you have a mold issue in your home or office, you should have an air quality test preformed to determine how extensive the mold problem really is.
